I did this for a thread the other day. The prompt was 'badasses' and, well, I think he's pretty badass so I drew him. B)
I might do a nicer coloring of this if I have the time. Though, this is a pretty nice job already, but hmmm I'd still like to play with it some more.
I never get to really draw dear Mello all that often. I should because he's a very good character! He also makes all these facial expressions that just seem like they'd be so fun to do.

Lately, I just feel down in the dumps! My confidence was at its highest point and now it's been shot down. But, I've been trying to cheer myself up these past couple of days.
I'm still working on this OTP meme for Gevanni and Near but uhh when I finish with it, what will I do? A comic or an illustration? Or maybe I should finally finish up some of the things I've made.
I'm thinking of watching some anime like Bartender though.
Also, I can legitimately say that Watchmen is fandom of mine, in addition to Death Note of course! c:

Okay, the Mello comic thing is on hiatus because I'm not really show what moments to show even though I got the beginning, middle and conclusion pretty much figured out.
Until then, I did a SuteNia comic spontaneously. Uhhhh, the premise of it was good at the time (I was half-asleep when I thought of it) but now I'm not so sure. Hmmm.... Still, it's worlds better than what I've done before. And, even if it doesn't execute well enough, I will have gotten this sexy Stephen out of it.

Okay, so I didn't read the manga yet.... but I plan to anyway. But I do have an idea for a very short comic (hopefully) with a pretty nice and simple idea. I scribbled down some storyboards and have been trying to shorten the idea to a nice length. It's my first time doing this so it's probably gonna suck but I hope it I at least like it some. c: I might end up scrapping it though. It's about Mello by the way.
In the meantime, I'm doing this OTP meme (Sutenia of course! 8D )and I've spent forever on this question, "Is there anyhing about them that annoys you?"
I was gonna answer the question with, "There's not enough of them in the western fandom! ;_:" but I had alllll this empty space left over so I filled it with these two things.
The first one I was really sorry to scrap because it was like a mini comic strip and it had a really cool way of using panels.
In my mind I had the idea of 1970s-80s time square with its prostitutes and adult theaters. I was gonna sketch a mini-Rorschach there too for fun.
Basically the adult theater would represent a place to find smut fic and the prospective person walks up to the theater and looks at the theater posters going, "HRMMM..." The first poster is Matt/Mello - SOLD OUT. The second is L Gangbang (I lol'd while making this one). And, the last one was SEXPK with a FUCK NO plastered on it. Hahaha
But, it was a little toooocreative weird so I scrapped it.
So, I STILL needed to fill in that empty space so I put as my answer, "Nothing yet" and drew what you see above as a ~*BONUS*~.
Basically stuff that irked me about other couples like how some people seem to adore having a sadistic/bitchy Mello smack Matt around (One of the most popular interpretations of them for some reason).
Also, I'm not terribly fond of the Light/L dynamic because it's hard to make it convincing (Though I did love Pieta by Balgus Rec).
Ah, and sometimes when MN isn't executed well it gets a little melodramatic with the
OH MELLO I SECRETLY ADORE YOU FROM AFAR YET YOU HATE ME
WELP! YOU DIED.
I SHALL NEVER LOVE ANOTHER OHHHHH
Part of the appeal of the that couple, imo, is that Mello and Near grew up together as rivals and, because of this, they understand each other more than anyone else they've ever met. Near is a socially awkward boy with lots of secrets but when he talks to Mello, he seems to be more authentic without really meaning to.

ARTIST'S BLOCK
I practice drawing everyday but I'm kinda at a loss at what to do Death Note wise.
Like, I'd like to make a fan comic, Even a small 4-koma is fine. So, I've been scribbling down random storyboards (or plans or something, whatever they're called) like mad. It doesn't even have to look good or go anywhere. Right now I'm getting the grasp of what I need to show that conveys the message clearly and with a lot of 'oomph'!.
I really really want to make it sutenia but lol I'm not sure what aspect of their relationship to start with. Or even when! Should it be before they get involved? That would be so cute. Or during, perhaps? Endearing and sweet. Or maybe when they start to have (Or just he because I have a thing for unrequited love ;_; ) feelings for each other. I dunnnoooo
Maybe I should focus on their platonic relationship first?
Funny thing is, even though they're my OTP, I still haven't settled on an interpretation of them yet.

Even though I don't post often, I work hard behind the scenes. For the past week, all I've done is practice, practice, practice.
Okay, now this is a meme that I made. I used this to practice drawing characters I normally wouldn't draw, even oneshot Near (Why don't I draw more of him ;_; ).

Light - Whatever, Kira.
Misa - The first one I did and what of the brightest. I like to see her pout.
Mogi - He cooks well and didn't even budge when the SPK interrogated him. He's also a little cute. >_>
Miss Tacky - I like to call her this. I had the most fun coloring her. I really like her flowers. This is based off of the outfit she wore on that New Year's TV special.
Mikami - His hair is difficult. The thing on hi shoulder is a towel since he goes to the gym all the time.
Near - I always draw Near at his cutest, but I never draw his gorgeous older self. I think this is the most emotionally powerful of the blocks. Poor baby. ;_;
Mello - This just rules. Mello's so intense.

Sachiko - I want to draw somebody more aged and lesser drawn (Poor Sachiko ;_; )
